The escape rooms, Virtual Reality Experience en the eating and drinking establishment of The Great Escape are situated in the old mail distribution centre in Zwolle, Westerlaan 51 and Drijbersingel 19. You can recognise the Weserlaan 51 building by the City-Post sign.

Should I make a reservation for the escaperoom?

Yes! You can only play the games if you have made a reservation! Make your booking here:

What are the prices for the escaperooms?

The prices for The Lost Package and the Prison Cell both are 120 per team, regardless of the number of people. The Experiment, which takes 75 minutes, costs 140 per team. The newest room, The Court Room, which takes 75 minutes, cost 150 per team.

How long does it take to play an escaperoom?

You have 60 minutes to escape, which sounds easier than it is! This is the approximate time that it has taken groups to complete the challenge. The Experiment takes 75 minutes. The Court Room takes 75 minutes, and you will need these…

Can I speak to you over the phone?

You can give us a call on 06 36 39 69 72. In case we are not able to answer your call, please leave a message and we will call you back as soon as possible.

What is the maximum capacity for the escaperoom?

6 people can play at a time in escape rooms The Lost Package, The Courtroom, the Prison Cell and The VR-Experience. In the Experiment you can play with 7 people at one time. Therefore the maximum capacity is 37 people per 1.5 hours if you book all our rooms together. Please take into account that in between the games we need this excess time to get the rooms ready for the next game.

We are a group of 7 people, can you not make an exception?

Only the Experiment can be played with 7 people, The Lost Package, The Courtroom and the Prison Cell can only be played by 6 people at a time.

What should I do when I have made a reservation for the escaperoom?

Check your e-mail immediately to see if you have received a confirmation e-mail. If this is not the case, something might have gone wrong. In this case, please contact us directly. The confirmation email tells you about the instructions for the game, so it is important to read it carefully.

What time should I be there?

We would advise to arrive 15 minutes for the start time, so that you’re not bieng rushed. This means there is plenty of time for a toilet breakd and maybe even a beverage in our bar.

Is an escaperoom dangerous?

The game is exciting and mysterious, but definitely not dangerous. Of course, you always have to think about your safety! Things like standing on your team memers, climbing on the decor, or putting fingers in wall sockets are never safe

There is always someone there who will keep an eye out for you and and your safety with the help of the cameras. However, playing one of the games is on your own risk.

Is the escaperoom suitable for everyone?

Everyone should give it a try! In our opinion, it is a good idea to have at least one adult per group. The game is physically challenging, but unfortunately it is wheelchair friendly only if you have discussed this with us.

People that wear (reading) glasses, should take these with them for sure. Some parts of the game are hidden and a pair of (reading) glasses is helpful for this very reason.

Do you have troubles with your night vision? We can provide you with torches on request.

What if I experience claustrofobia?

There is always the possiblity to exit the game prematurely. In case of emergency there is someone available to help you. Even when you only suffer lightly of claustrofobia, you should be fine. We can leave a door open on request to prevent you from feeling locked up.

Is the escaperoom suitable for children?

Absolutely! We even organise children’s parties! Please contact us if you are interested in booking a children’s party, because we do make some adjustments for our younger players, to make sure that the game isn’t too tense or difficult.

As for the standard escape rooms we don’t have a minimum age for The Lost Pacakge, as long as there is an adult present. We do recommend this game for children to be 10 or over. But of course, we have seen it happen that an adult couldn’t have escaped without the help of his 9 year old daughter.

We only allow children of 12 and older into The Prison Cell, The Courtroom and The Experiement, under supervision of an adult. We advise for children to have a minimum age of 14 for The Prison Cell and The Courtroom and 16 years for The Experiment.

Are parking spaces available?

We have a free car park on the grounds of the City-Post. In case there are no spaces in front of the building, there is another car park on the grounds of the museam for computer gaming. You can also park at The Diezepoort garage (first hour for free).

Can I use the toilet during the escaperoom?

No, so please make sure that before the game starts you have been to the toilet. It would be a shame if we had to abort a game for a toilet break. Make sure you have plenty of time before the game starts, so that you won’t lose any of your valuable playing time.

Can we play the game in English?

Yes! The game is suitable international players, just make sure you mention that you would like to play the game in English when  you make your booking…

We would like to make a booking for a different timeslot than what is available in your reservation system.

We can always have a look if we can accomodate your request, but unfortunately we don’t always have the possibility. Just send us an email at info@thegreatescape.info and we can see if we can help!

Do you have a bar where we can have a drink?

Only recently we have opened The Key and Het OM where you can enjoy a drink, check ‘packages’ for more information.
